Editorial Policy

Last updated: March 2026

At Fertilitys, we know that fertility information can be overwhelming, contradictory, and sometimes dangerously misleading. Our editorial standards exist to make sure every piece of content we publish is accurate, honest, and genuinely useful to the people reading it.

Our commitment

Every article on Fertilitys is:

  • Evidence-based — claims are supported by peer-reviewed research, clinical guidelines (NICE, HFEA, RCOG, ESHRE), or established medical consensus
  • Written by qualified professionals — our content is authored by Danielle Bowen, a registered nutritionist (MSc, RNutr) with specialist expertise in fertility and reproductive health
  • Transparent about uncertainty — where research is emerging, limited, or conflicting, we say so. We never present preliminary findings as established fact
  • Free from false promises — we do not guarantee outcomes. Fertility is complex, and anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest
  • Regularly reviewed and updated — medical knowledge evolves. We review published articles and update them when new evidence emerges

How we research and write

  • Primary sources first — we cite original research papers, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses wherever possible. We do not rely on secondary reporting or other health blogs as primary sources
  • Multiple sources — important claims are cross-referenced across multiple studies or guidelines
  • Recency — we prioritise recent research (within the last 5 years) while acknowledging landmark older studies where relevant
  • Full references — every article includes a references section with links to cited studies and guidelines

What we don't do

  • Make medical claims without cited evidence
  • Promote miracle cures, unproven treatments, or pseudoscience
  • Accept payment for editorial content (we do not publish sponsored articles or paid reviews disguised as editorial)
  • Copy or closely paraphrase content from other sources
  • Provide individual medical advice — our content is educational, not prescriptive

E-E-A-T and YMYL compliance

Fertility and reproductive health content falls under Google's "Your Money or Your Life" (YMYL) category — meaning it can directly impact a reader's health and wellbeing. We take this responsibility seriously.

Our content is designed to meet the highest standards of Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (E-E-A-T):

  • Experience — our founder has personal, lived experience of the fertility journey
  • Expertise — content is written by a registered nutritionist with relevant qualifications
  • Authoritativeness — we cite recognised institutions and peer-reviewed journals
  • Trustworthiness — transparent sourcing, clear medical disclaimers, no hidden commercial interests

Where we recommend products (supplements, books, tools, or services), we may use affiliate links. This means we receive a small commission if you purchase through our link, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial recommendations — we only recommend products we genuinely believe in and would use ourselves.

All affiliate links are clearly disclosed.
